Der letzte Beitrag ist schon eine Weile her, aber es gab auch nicht wirklich Spannendes zu berichten. Da wir beide derzeit sehr stark in der Arbeit eingebunden sind, bleibt leider nicht viel Zeit für Training oder andere Aktivitäten. Zwei Dinge haben uns die letzten Wochen dann allerdings doch beschäftigt:

Außerdem war vom 11. bis 13. November ein ASCA Agility Trial in Königstetten, an dem wir teilgenommen haben – Dash als Starter, Ally als Maskottchen, und Kathrin wie schon fast gewohnt als Scorekeeper. Ich weiß, viele Leute denken, ASCA Agility ist Schleifchen sammeln und jedes Mal mit neuen Titeln raus marschieren, immerhin gibt es ja keine Verweigerungen und man kommt oft mit ein paar Ehrenrunden und Unaufmerksamkeiten trotzdem irgendwie durch – mit einem Hund wie Dash und unserem Zeitmangel, der sich natürlich besonders auf das Agility-Training niederschlägt, weil es für uns ein Hobby ist und nicht die Hauptbeschäftigung für unsere Hunde, werden die eigenen Ansprüche halt ein bisschen anders. Nichtsdestotrotz haben Georg und Dash sich zumindest eine Quali im Open Gambler erlaufen (immerhin die erste Quali seit über einem Jahr), und wir haben alle hart an uns gearbeitet, um zufrieden nach Hause zu gehen. Im Jumping gab es ein paar gute Läufe, aber es flogen wieder Stangen; dafür waren im Regular die Zonengeräte (abgesehen von der Wippe, wo Dash derzeit eindeutig erst im 2. Anlauf alles richtig macht) halbwegs solide, „2 on 2 off“ kennen wir zwar nicht mehr, aber mit unfreiwilligen Runnings landet er zum Glück meistens in der ASCA-Toleranzgrenze. Unser besonderer Dank gilt Kerstin für das super Mentaltraining; Georg wird weiter hart arbeiten, damit wir beim nächsten ASCA Trial vielleicht auch mal ein paar Nuller sehen können.
The last post was already quite a while ago, but there hasn’t really been much exciting stuff to talk about. We are both very occupied with work, so unfortunately there isn’t exactly much time left for training or other activities. However, two things were keeping us busy in the last weeks:
The very cute Fly visited Dash and was bred successfully. Puppies are expected around Christmas: Jolly Shadow Litter Planning
And, there also was the ASCA Agility Trial in Königstetten from November 11-13 where we participated: Dash was starting, Ally was the mascot, and Kathrin was the Scorekeeper (as usual). I know, a lot of people think that ASCA Agility is collecting ribbons and walking out with new titles every time, after all there are no refusals and you can still get through with a couple extra laps and lack of focus – however, with a dog like Dash and our notorious lack of training time, which is badly affecting Agility performance as Agility is a hobby for us and not our main focus with our dogs, your own expectations turn into something a little different. Anyway, Georg and Dash managed a Qualifying Score in Open Gambler (making this the first Q in over a year), and we all worked really hard to go home happily. We had a couple nice runs in Jumping, but there were poles dropping; on the plus side, the contacts in the Regular runs were half-decent (apart from the teeter, which Dash refuses to do properly the first time and has to be reminded how to do it), „2 on 2 off“ is a concept we also forgot, but his unplanned runnings were luckily mostly within ASCA-tolerance. A special thanks goes to Kerstin for the excellent mental training; Georg will continue to work hard so we can possibly have some clean runs at the next Trial.
