ASCA Trial Poland 2016

PolenSchleifchenOn July 23/24, we were in Poland at the ASCA Trial in Owczarnia Natolin (near Warsaw). The location is a dream, we can really recommend going there to everyone (lots of room, an excellent trial area and a lake for swimming, everything right there and located very nicely, 2 minutes from the nearest motorway, even we managed to find it without problems ;)). However, getting there on the other Polish roads was quite exciting…

Dash, after we didn’t connect at all on our first geese run which got rightfully rewarded with a „thank you“, showed his good side on the following five runs with Georg: each run was a Qualifying Score, with a 2nd and 3rd place on Geese, and on Sunday also with a 3rd place on Sheep. We have now completed the Started Sheep and Started Ducks titles, and have a lot of homework until the next year so we will be able to compete in the higher classes (and also finally start our cattle training). Dash did for sure prove that he cannot just go „fast“, but also be very calm and controlled on ducks/geese and work with great focus.
A short word about Ally: Yes, she was also there. She was signed up and started in Open Sheep on Saturday, however it seems that she forgot to pack her brain and left it at home in Austria. She was very excited and nervous the whole time, could not focus at all, kept splitting the sheep or didn’t pick them up in the first place, „Come by“ is completely broken and consists of running straight up to the sheep while barking. A lot to train there.

Now we can only hope that someone will be willing to keep organizing the trial in Poland in the next years. We will definitely be coming again.
